VNG inspires young passion in gaming through VNG Gaming Scholarship

To nurture young and talented game developers, in June 2022, VNG implemented the Gaming Scholarship program with a total grant of 50 million VND.

Gaming has become an increasingly important and heavily invested industry with huge revenue potential. Being aware of the young’s interest in this booming industry, VNG wanted to encourage them through a scholarship program called VNG Gaming Scholarship.

All students across the country were eligible regardless of their major. Five scholarships with a total value of 50 million VND were awarded to the top 5 outstanding profiles which were evaluated based on academic transcripts and personal essays demonstrating their understanding and passion for the gaming industry.

Among many applications from more than 20 universities, the 5 best candidates were:
1. Nguyen Phuc Dang – Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology
2. Hua Quang Huy – Foreign Trade University
3. Vo Minh Hoang – FPT University
4. Dang Hoang Nhat Hung – University of Science, Vietnam National University, Ho Chi Minh City
5. Vo Van Trang – University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City

Dang Hoang Nhat Hung, one of the five awarded students, said: “Despite facing many barriers when following the gaming career path, I still constantly improve my knowledge and gradually persuade my parents to support my passion.”

Despite their differences in age and study majors, all candidates showed their remarkable efforts to learn about the industry and the innovative mindset of the young generation towards the gaming field in particular and technology in general. Through the program, VNG hopes that students can keep their passion burning, and the community can change their prejudice against game programming, which is a prestigious profession both in the international and national scale.
