ZaloPay pioneers to bring the “Cashless Canteen” model to the International University

Since September 5, 2022, all transactions at the International University – Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City (IU – VNU HCMC)’s canteen have been digitized, allowing all users to pay by ZaloPay instead of cash. 

ZaloPay has previously built an online ordering system on the school canteen’s official Zalo account and installed the POS system (vending machines that accept online payment) for on-site ordering. Teachers and students can order food remotely on the school’s official Zalo account or go to a POS machine to order and pay via ZaloPay e-wallet.

After more than a month of implementation, more than 30,000 successful payments have been recorded. This payment method is well-received as it is time-saving for customers and efficient in terms of human resources and order tracking for stores.

Ms. Le Lan Chi – Chief Operating Officer at ZaloPay said: “We are always willing to receive feedback from customers, businesses, and store managers, … to have a suitable adjustment plan. That is how ZaloPay perfects the product and improves user experience.”
Not limited to canteen services, ZaloPay wants to soon deploy many other digital services on the school campus. For example, ZaloPay are working with 4,100 public schools, from kindergarten to high school, to support more than 3 million parents in online tuition payment.
