ZaloPay establishes payment gateway on Shopify

ZaloPay officially announces its partnership with Shopify, making it the first e-wallet in Vietnam to participate in the payment system of  leading e-commerce platform.

ZaloPay and Shopify aim to promote a “Brand.com” website model in which they can assist Vietnamese businesses in staying up-to-date with market innovations. The model allows entreprises create and run their own websites, expand their sale channels beyond e-commerce platforms.

Shopify, a Canadian global commerce company, offers essential internet infrastructure and reliable tools to facilitate the establishment, growth, marketing, and operation of retail businesses of all sizes. The company owns the largest commerce ecosystem in the industry, collaborating with over 40,000 app developers, theme designers, and partners who contribute to diversifying customization capabilities to cater to brand development and the varied needs of multiple industries.

Now, ZaloPay is accessible to all enterprises utilizing Shopify for their e-commerce websites. Enterprises must provide all necessary documents, including a business license/Ecom, to sign a contract with ZaloPay, thus becoming eligible to open a payment gateway.

ZaloPay’s Chief Executive Officer, Le Lan Chi, expressed the company’s ambition to “bridge the gap between Shopify and Vietnamese businesses, leveraging their technical resources and vast partner network. This collaboration signifies a significant milestone for ZaloPay as it introduces and replicates the successful “Brand.com” website model within the Vietnamese business community. Additionally, ZaloPay aims to strengthen its relationships with new partners who actively operate brands on the Shopify platform”.

Moreover, ZaloPay’s distinction as the first domestic e-wallet service provider to participate in the Shopify payment system demonstrates its considerable capacity and influence within the Vietnamese market when compared to existing payment methods.

According to the Connected Consumer Report, released by Decision Lab and the Mobile Marketing Association Vietnam (MMA), ZaloPay e-wallets accounted for the second-largest share of the Vietnamese e-wallet market in the first quarter of this year, amounting to 53%. The Connected Consumer Report, conducted quarterly by Decision Lab since 2019, provides up-to-date information about Vietnamese digital consumption, supporting brands in effectively connecting with consumers.
