VNG to help organize and promote eSports at the 32nd SEA Games

In collaboration with Vietnam Recreational and Electronic Sport Association (VIRESA) as the strategic partner for Vietnam national eSports team at the 32nd SEA Games, VNG takes on proactive role in organizing eSports tournaments with this year’s country host, Cambodia.

This is the third time eSports is officially included in SEA Games. The eSports Federation Cambodia (EFC) has confirmed the list of eSports comprising of six disciplines: Attack Online 2, PUBG Mobile, Mobile Legend: Bang Bang, League of Legends: Wild Rift, VALORANT, Crossfire. Vietnam has achieved high rankings in competition on both national and international levels of these games.

To select athletes for 32nd SEA Games, VNG has worked in accordance with VIRESA’s guidelines in agreement with EFC to evaluate prospective individuals via qualifying tournaments, including SEA Games 32 Vietnam Qualifier 2023 to select Mobile Legends: Bang Bang national athletes, and SEA Esports Championship 2023 for Southeast Asia teams of three disciplines:  PUBG Mobile, Wild Rift, and VALORANT

VNG cooperates with VIRESA to implement tournament selection for the 32nd SEA Games

Besides, VNG showed a high sense of responsibility by disseminating of the tournament’s information, delivering sports equipment from Vietnam to Cambodia, and providing a staff of 35 highly qualified people to assist the Organizing Committee in Cambodia. La Xuan Thang, Head of Game Studio 3, VNG said: “We hope that the 32nd SEA Games will be a success, contribute to communicating the values of e-sports and the spirit of solidarity in coordinating regional eSports events. That also reaffirms our commitment to promoting eSports in Southeast Asia.”

VNG takes on various responsibilities in preparing the country for competing in 32nd SEA Games’ eSports, from popularising the tournaments, equipping the team with technical gadgets, and providing the support team of 35 highly qualified professionals to assist the organizing committee in Cambodia. VNG accompanies Vietnam eSports in the memorable 31st SEA Games

“VNG’s capacity has been proven through many activities so far and comprehensively from the stages of organization, production, communication to supporting and training athletes, especially in the recent 31st SEA Games. After 10 days of intense competition (06-15 May), the Vietnam eSports team achieved great results. The team successfully brought home two silvers for League of Legends: Wild Rift and PUBG Mobile in team events, three bronzes: two in individual events for both VALORANT and PUBG Mobile, and one in female team events for Mobile Legends: Bang Bang.

At the end of May, VNG and Vietnam University Games (VUG) will jointly organize an eSports competition for all university students in Vietnam. The event will feature three different games: PUBG Mobile, Teamfight Tactics (a spinoff of League of Legends), and VALORANT. This collaboration is part of VNG’s strategy to promote eSports among the younger generation.
